The challenge: accelerated growth demands control and risk visibility
With a base of over 8,000 suppliers and around 300 new records monthly, FS Bioenergia needed a robust and scalable process. The main pain points were:
- No risk visibility in due diligence
- Decentralized, hard-to-trace processes
- Low standardization and high fraud risk
- Multiple systems and little automation
In addition, with FS advancing in compliance and ESG, it became essential to integrate different technical areas (environmental, legal, social-environmental, logistics and procurement) in a unified, agile and reliable flow.
The solution: full integration with Linkana as the central platform
The transformation started in March 2023 and gained momentum in the following months. Linkana was chosen as the central due diligence platform, connecting all involved areas and consolidating risk analyses into an intelligent, automated score.
Strategic integrations implemented:
- SAP: automated supplier record creation after approval.
- Serasa: financial score included in supplier risk score.
- Neoway: complementary compliance risk analysis.
- Microsoft Azure: corporate login authentication.
Linkana became the single entry point for new records, replacing systems like Top Desk. All analyses happen inside the platform, with automated triggering of technical areas when specific risks are identified.

More than 5,000 due diligences in 12 months, with lead time dropping from 16 hours to zero thanks to the Linkana + SAP integration. The 2025 average due diligence time stood at just 1.45 days, even with multiple areas involved.
🔐 Strengthened governance and compliance
Linkana was highlighted in ISO 14001 and 45001 certification audits for consolidating documents, scores and performance in one place. Traceability and automation increased security and reduced fraud.
🌱 Environmental and social impact
With a carbon-zero operation and the BECCS project underway (making FS carbon-negative), selecting reliable suppliers is strategic. Linkana helps avoid partnerships with non-reputable companies, reinforcing the commitment to ethics, sustainability and social responsibility.
With Linkana, FS also managed to:
- Onboard 3,300+ local producers and customers
- Expand traceability in corn acquisition and DDG distribution
- Engage rural suppliers more easily, with a friendly interface and simplified flows
Lessons and next steps
The project’s success was enabled by collaborative governance and active engagement from technical areas, led by Pedro Ivo, FS manager. The category matrix was built with all key areas (compliance, legal, sustainability, environment and procurement), defining specific criteria by supplier type.
Risks overcome:
- Rural supplier engagement: mitigated with a simple interface, assisted form filling and public data automation.
- Cross-area complexity: solved with Linkana’s “review groups”.
- Data volume: controlled with alerts and filters triggering analyses only when there is risk.
